Welcome Little One

A dear friend was just blessed with a new little granddaughter named Halle Mae, so I thought I'd whip her up a card.  She lives in California, so this will be a hand cancelled post.  The paper is October Afternoon, the carriage is a Cricut cut.  That bow is out of  some of my hoarded silk ribbon.  There's some Martha Stewart lace in there and some Kaisercraft pearls.  I used dimensionals on the scalloped circle and again on the buggy.  I cheated with an SRM sticker.  Anyway, fun card to make.  I surely hope a black baby carriage doesn't call to mind Rosemary's Baby.  Eeeeeeek!  I can't stop loving the contrast of black and just about any other color.  Happy Friday everyone!

Hugs,
Kathy

XO

My Favorite Things has a sketch challenge that caught my eye.  I needed a "feel better" card so here's my take.  I didn't deviate much at all from the sketch.  Look at that beautiful new embossing powder I just bought (Ranger's Liquid Platinum).

Anyway, here is my card for the Get Sketchy challenge.  Click on image for full photo.

MME Indie Chic Citron dp, Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder, Waltzing Mouse stamp (frame), House Mouse "Sweet Kiss" Nestie frame die, Prismacolor pencils, Liquid Pearls, EK Success flower punch, CB Swiss Dots EF, SRM Sticker, foam dots

new die....old paper

thanks for inspiration from jasonw1 card

I've been wanting this Memory Box Chloe Stem die for quite awhile so when it arrived I was anxious to do something with it.  Some old Core'dinations paper caught my eye and it all just went together like buttah... I know a prime rule of floral arrangement is to always use an odd number, but 3 of these beautiful diecuts was overkill, so I went with 2.  The embossing folders are old Cuttlebug and Tim Holtz,  a little sanding, some very old stitched ribbon and of course Kaisercraft pearls.  I did mount the main panel on some foam pads for dimension.  It's all mounted on kraft cardstock and done.  This would be a great entry for a "Shopping our Stash" challenge. So quick and okay for a masculine birthday card.  I'm not sure I'll even add a sentiment.  Thanks for dropping in and Happy Friday to you all!   Hugs, Kathy

Birthday's are Magic!

My sweet granddaughter Lily turned 8 on Saturday.  She's mad about horses, so she had a nice ride on one of our neighbor's horses, Dixie.  Then we had birthday cake and opened gifts.  The only thing Lily loves more than horses are *magical* horses, of the winged and horned kind.  This image from A Day for Daisies was perfect for her birthday card.  It's a center step card and the inside reads "One day you're 7, the next day you're 8...Magic!"   I simply cannot stop using this Bailiwick background die...it's really to "die for."  Groans all 'round, I know I know.  Hope you all have a magical day!"

happy valentine's day

I love Valentine's Day...more love in the world is a good thing!  I'm having so much fun with this new Bailiwick die...trying it with different colors.  This was so easy I'm embarrassed.  One SRM sticker, some cardstock and done.  I rehearsed it with a bow, but decided I liked it better without. Very very simple but classy, I think.  Sorry for the wanky photo.  No excuse, I'll do better next post.  Thanks for dropping by for a little love.  Hugs, Kathy

Be Mine

Day for Daisies new "Mailing Love" digistamp caught my eye and how perfect for a Valentine's Day card!  Isn't she adorable?  A bit of paper piecing, some dies and pearls and Prisma Coloring.  I've got to get my photo area set up again so I can take better pictures, but for now this will have to do.

Entering her in the A Day for Daisies Challenge 88 Pink and Red Project.
Love to all you lovers out there!
Hugs,
Kathy
